Saracens have handed Joel Tomkins his rugby union debut in their home LV= Cup clash with Worcester on Sunday.

Tomkins, who switched codes from Wigan Warriors in November, will start the round three fixture at outside centre.

The three-times capped rugby league international, 24, left his hometown club after six years.

He has stated his intention to follow his former Wigan team-mate, and future Sarries colleague, Chris Ashton in gaining England honours in union.

Tomkins follows former dual-code international Andy Farrell in playing for the London club after switching from the Cherry and Whites.

Farrell is now Saracens coach but has been seconded to England to be part of the national coaching team during the Six Nations.
