Niall O'Connor's brave injury-time penalty earned Connacht a draw against Glasgow in the Pro12 clash in Galway.

Jon Welsh's second try in as many games helped Glasgow lead 7-3 at half-time after an error-strewn opening period.

Tiernan O'Halloran's try helped Connacht level at 10-10 before replacement Duncan Weir restored Glasgow's lead.

John Muldoon's last-ditch tackled prevent a match-sealing try for Finlay Gillies before O'Connor's late penalty.

O'Connor missed a couple of difficult early penalties before Welsh surged through for Glasgow's try on 26 minutes with Ruaridh Jackson adding the conversion.

Connacht responded with some pressure of their own and the hard work was rewarded by O'Connor's opening penalty in first-half injury-time.

Jackson restored Glasgow's seven-point advantage on 55 minutes but visitors then suffered a blow when winger Tommy Seymour was sin-binned for an offside offence at a ruck.

Helped by the man advantage, Connacht pressed and a high kick from O'Connor broke to O'Halloran who gathered to score.

O'Connor's conversion levelled the game but Weir came off the bench to restore Glasgow's lead with 12 minutes remaining.

The visitors looked set to notch a decisive second try as replacement hooker Gillies charged for the corner but Irish international Muldoon produced a magnificent tackle to force the Warriors player into touch.

Glasgow looked to have repelled some late Connacht pressure but a powerful scrum in the final minute forced an infringement and O'Connor held his nerve to slot the far-from-easy penalty from the edge of the 22.
