Italy have been forced into a late change for Scotland's Six Nations visit after hooker Leonardo Ghiraldini failed to recover from a foot injury.
Ghiraldini's place in the side has been taken by Aironi's Fabio Ongaro, taking the number of changes to seven following the 24-3 loss to Wales.
Jaques Brunel's side must beat the Scots to avoid the Wooden Spoon.
Giovambattista Venditti replaces Luke McLean on the right wing, while Tommaso Benvenuti will start at centre.
Edoardo Gori takes over from Fabio Semenzato at scrum-half as Simone Favaro drops to the bench, with flanker Robert Barbieri taking his place.
Lock Marco Bortolami will earn his 93rd cap and Leicester Tigers prop Martin Castrogiovanni has recovered from a fractured rib to play.
Australian-born lock Joshua Furno, 22, could make his Six Nations debut, having been included among the replacements.
Italy have won six of their 18 encounters against Scotland, who have not won in Rome since 2006.
