Ulster have confirmed that former Head Coach Brian McLaughlin will take up a senior role within the province's Academy development system next season.

McLaughlin's role will be to develop underage talent with a view to identifying future Ulster players.

The former teacher will work with schools and help feed the cream of local talent into the Ulster system.

The Academy system is set to be restructured and will benefit from increased investment.

New Zealander Mark Anscombe wil take over as Head Coach at Ravenhill next season, in succession to McLaughlin, who was in charge for three seasons.

McLaughlin was formerly coach of the RBAI 1st XV and was also a former Ireland skills' coach during the tenure of Eddie O'Sullivan.
