Redruth beat Bournemouth 18-13 to maintain perfect record

Tom Duncan scored two tries for the Reds

Redruth made it three wins out of three in National Two South with an 18-13 win over Bournemouth at the Rec.

Tom Duncan scored two tries and Paul Thirlby kicked five points as the Reds led 15-5 at the break after Gavin Hart scored a try late on for Bournemouth.

Paul Thirlby kicked a 65th-minute penalty and Ben Stevenson got three late points for the visitors.

Redruth forwards coach Ashley Morcom said his side should have changed tactics in the second half.

"When Romey Vassell, who's one of our main ball carriers, came off, we should have resorted to a different tactic so perhaps that's a coaching error rather than a player error," Morcom told BBC Radio Cornwall.

"We didn't have a lot of go-forward, we struggled with the ball going forward."

The victory lifts the Reds to fourth in the table with a game in hand on leaders Shelford.
