Scarlets forwards have to sort themselves out we let the Jacks bully us off the pitch and the same outcome again in France.... wise up and get some bite back into our pack, meet fire with fire and stop taking the backward steps...let's get as smart & devious as the opposition. Play to the ref not against him.
@welshloiner....Scarlets best region in Wales, you serious mate ?
Bad refereeing or not it was still a hefty defeat. This being the best Welsh region it doesn't look promising as Blues lost to the bottom English team.
I am not saying that it would have made any difference to the eventual winners but the inability of the linesman to see Sivivatu's foot in touch on the run that built up to Morgan Stoddart's second yellow card spoiled this match. With 15 a piece it was brewing up to be a great game.
@ 27 Another sore losing Welshman blaming it on an Irish referee? Clermont are prolly the best in Europe currently. You lost to the better team. Deal with it. Bad decisions happen all the time. The decision given in the last 30secs by W. Barnes in the Ireland Wales game in the 6N's earlier in the year is another example of a bad decision. Munster coming in from the side? They're not the only team
The match was over as a contest the moment Morgan Stoddart received a second yellow card. Looking at the bigger picture some of the Scarlets summer signings have only arrived at Parc y Scarlets in the past few weeks. Jacob Adriaanse has yet to arrive. This season should be about achieving a top four place in the Rabo Pro 12, and winning all home fixtures in the Heineken Cup and away against Exeter
When I saw who was reffing my heart sank as he is one of the worst in the Rabbo direct never mind the Heinekin and terribly inconsistent .The Scarlets had no chance because as soon as the crowd roared he gave a penalty to Clermont. Never mind the fact that they were off their feet and coming in from the side all the time (like Munster)so being Irish he probably thinks this is legal.
@ 19. Yes, Peter Fitzgibbon (Irish) had a shocker, but come on! Are you trying to say that Irish ref's blatantly give bad decisions against the Welsh? That's nonsense and you know it. I've seen Nigel Owens give some really awful decisions too. Nationality has got nothing to do with it....ridiculoust. I would have loved to see the Scarlets win, but they were not good enough on the day. I'm Irish!
i think guys your missing the point, while the comments about ref, Stoddart etc are valid, but the real point is Welsh clubs (and i'm a Scarlets season ticket holder) are rubbish up front (apart from the Ospreys, there just rubbish behind) we constantly get stuffed up front and no regions are doing anything about it. Till we do forget wining anything.
Ha Ha @ 22...so true.If the French want a level playing field for the European cup then there should be a financial limit on each squad...see how they fair then.
shame a good game spoilt, Scarlets putting up a good display until red card why is it tech. foul = yellow card , dangerous play(high tackle) = just a penalty ref seems to have bottled it before a home crowd.
The scorline should read 'Michelin Tyres World XV 49 - 16 West Wales XV.
i thought a red was harsh.he was penalised twice (technical offences) in the game and got sent off.there were instances of foul/dangerous play that were ignored.just seems wrong.and it ruined the game as a contest..
