Says who? He's a average 7, who admittedly can tackle with the best of them, but there are plenty better in world rugby. There are plenty better who can't even get in the England squad! Your obsession with 'Captain Fantastic' is very funny.
Given that Richie McCaw has been the best No 7 in world rugby for a decade, won a RWC, lead NZ to 10 Tri Nations titles, gone unbeaten thru the Championship, won loads of Super titles, has 100 test wins, has awesome hair and is the captain of the greatest rugby nation the world has ever seen... wait, what was my point? Oh yeah - is it time to acknowledge him as the greatest player ever?
Warren Gatland has a very hard selection choice coming up next year. In areas such as the back row, and the wings, all four nations have a plethora of talent. Ashton, Bowe, Visser, Cuthbert, North to name a few. Will it come down to who has a better 6 nations? or will Gatland opt for more Welsh talent as he knows them well, and knows their style?
Considering the failiures so far even with a wealth of international talent at his disposal in the backs division, is Phil Davies really the man to bring the Cardiff Blues out of the doldrums or is he pushing is further into the mire?
As a fan I think, even this early in the season, that we should get rid. As a former forward, his defence of our scrum is laughable. We're a soft touch.
The way Gloucester have been playing recently-3 tries of the week in a row says something-surely their attacking play should be recognised by England selection? I, like many, felt Lancaster would give young, attacking players like Burns, JSD, May, not to mention Abendanon, Wade, etc a chance for England & 2015. What more do these players have to do? Play for Leicester....?
