Isn't this supposed to read 'The game we don't need?'
Good for Jamie: a bit like 'The Somme Offensive is just what our infantry needs.'
Out of all this going on now I really really hope that the ONE individual who is the most important person to Welsh rugby does not get too p***ed off with the hounding journalists - Shaun edwards! I really think its important to acknowledge him as (pardon the pun) 'our last line of defence'. This guy not only comes as part of a package with Mr Gatland but also a work ethic and defensive stratergie
its a pity that most welsh fans make a bee line for 9 or 10 when the s*** hits the fan and they wonder why they lose there confidence a 9 or 10 can only function with good quality ball produced by a good quality PACK
Non of the NH sides have the game to trouble the SH, they play a different game with a different type of player and place a value in a skill set and game plan that is superior to ours. Either we accept that we are in the dark ages despite our passion and player pool or we change. Sick of coaches and administrators not getting it at every level in every part of the Lions nations. Good luck Wales
As a Welshman I honestly cant believe some of the reports I am reading on the BBC about the Wales v NZ game. 'Dillusional' after the last two games!
On current form, i am afraid to say this game is just what Wales don't need.Could well be a 50 pointerHaving said that, anything close would be a major boost for Wales, just can't see it.
57 & 58Some recent Samoa stats worth noting :NH Teams -Lost by 1 point only to Scotland - twiceLost by 7 points to WalesSH Teams-Beat, Japan, Tonga, Fiji,Lost by only 5 points to SABeat Australia in Australia by 11 pointsNot a very good team eh?I'm not being rude but, I think you need to re-evaluate your thinking about Samoa.Wales , this time lost to a good SH team.
It's a lot down to mentality. All the talk here is about Wales being 'second best'. No we haven't been 'second best' in the last two games - We've clearly been 'first worst'! Coming close is not good enough - when was the last time Wales really won by a margin - against proper competition! Be ruthless, get to the breakdown first and DON'T let Priestlands boot anywhere near the ball!
I was over the limit on characters on my last post, the line I removed was " some really silly comments on here"
Why oh Why do we continually shoot ourselves in the foot and add fuel to the fire of those waiting for failure. As a Welshman I am not going to nit pick at the English or their results but would prefer Wales to concentrate on their actions on the field rather than the words and rhetoric off it. Let Gatland do the talking and the the players concentrate on getting it right on the field as they can.
@56 losing to Argentina, fair enough they've had a good Championship and are really kicking on. Losing to Samoa? No shouldn't be acceptable for any 6 nations side, possibly Italy but even they should be aiming to win at home. None of the home nations have covered themselves in glory but all the others have at least play top3 opposition when they've lost.
56 -I am pretty sure England, Ireland and Scotalnd would beat Samoa and probably Argentina (they are Southern hemisphere you know)Wales will get absolutely gubbed off NZ, it could be really embarassing!
It's kick Wales time again it seems. If any of you Englishmen think that the England team could do better against the SH teams, just think back to Saturday !There is considerable work to be done by all the NH nations and the Lions coaching staff, to get to SH standards, but gloating over a Welsh loss is not going to do it.Btw I live in England and my parents and ancestors are all English.
@ 38 - Yes very solid in defence, we've only leaked 5 tries in 2 games
I get that you can't go into a game thinking you're going to lose but comments like this and Warburton's are a joke. Wales are in disarray at the moment and New Zealand are head and shoulders above everyone else in the workd at the moment. Given current form Wales are likely to end up at least 20 points down come the final whistle.
"[Wales]... tipped to reach that final down under with some believing they were the tournament favourites" - you what??!!! since when were they ever favourites? I know you guys like to be really optimistic, but lay off the paint thinners. As for this week - Fired up Wales will spoil and defend well for 60-70mins, the ABs will drop lots of ball (again!), but do enough in the end. 26-10 I reckon
"There is every chance we can win next Saturday - I definitely believe that. You have to believe that in every game you go into,"It gets worse! Are these players on some sort of bonus for making press statements aswell as losing rugby matches. Like a red rag to a bull...god help them!
I've just read this, are these people in cloud cuckoo land or what. Wales have have about as much chance of beating the All Blacks as a snowball has in hell !! There is NO WAY on this earth that Wales are going to get anywhere near to beating the ABs. I predict that the ABs will put at least 40 points on Wales. The whole Welsh infrastructure is in total disarray. Dream on.
