Cosidering Christian Wade's excellent try on sunday and his wing partner Tom Varndell playing well, along with all the other english talent on the wing at the moment, do you think that Chris Ashton's place on the wing in the England team is safe? If you think it is, who would you pair him with on the other wing(with an out and out winger) or if not, who would you replace him with?
Which English players would you be looking to 'blood' at some point during the 6 nations? Maybe some young Wasps talent like Wade or Vunipola? Or some others who I haven't mentioned?
As an elite sportsman, what diet do you have?
Do you Think Christian Wade or Tom Varndell deserves a spot in the elite squad?
Who are going to be the likely new-comers into the England squad?
...and do you think its FINALLY time to give Wade and/or Varndell a chance on the Engand wing(s)?
I think that you were a great player but suck as a pundit.
What do you think?
Adam
Do you feel that it is time for those who have been around in the Premiership, for many years, to get a look in at the squad for the 6 Nations. Varndell and Wade have been instrumental for Wasps, but would Lancaster risk leaving someone of Ashton's calibre out of the starting line-up.
Don't you think it is a slightly ridiculous situation that Hendre Fourie, a man who played for England, is facing deportation because he was forced into retirement two years before reaching residency? Surely if we're going to let someone play for our country, then they have to also be assumed English?
Thanks
In a perfect world of no injuries between now and the summer, who would be in your Lions first XV? It is hard to see Scotland grabbing more than 2 - 3 berths in the squad, let alone the first XV. For simplicity, let's also assume that anyone currently injured recovers.
What do you think the severity of ban will be for Toby Flood after his tip-tackle on Andy Goode? Will it affect the 6 nations options for Stuart Lancaster and may it force his hand by using Freddie Burns from the outset?
I would be worried if Burns did start. His performance on Saturday highlighted some frailties and naivety in his game management. Is he ready for 6 nations action?
Over the last few months we have seen a new side to London Wasps that has apparently been missing over the last year or two, and they now sit 4th in the Premiership. What do you think has been the event or key point that has seen them turn their performances around?
Are you looking for some help there Warren? :D
Does the recent news article about Hendre Fourie make a farce of the country's immigration laws or England's selection policy?
IMHO, I think it's a farce that someone who has represented this country is in this position. But looking forward, perhaps that should be England's selection policy i.e. if they were to stop playing rugby today, would they be allowed to stay in this country?
Does he have a fair point or should he keep his thoughts to himself...or both?
Charles
As I see it, the 'tip tackle' rule was introduced in 2011 to eliminate a certain type of tackle practiced mainly by the Pacific Island teams where players were lifted above chest height, tipped beyond 90° and dropped without control of the player.
Tom Varndell's tackle against Bath was nothing like the above, but still earnt him a yellow card. Does this law need addressing?
Worcester have arguably been cost 3 home wins this season due to poor officiating decisions (Bath, Gloucester, Leicester). Commendably Richard Hill very rarely mentions the referee post match but the same cannot be said of the teams higher up Cockerill, O'Shea etc.
