Schools' Cup: Methody beat RS Armagh in semi-final

Methodist College beat Royal School Armagh 29-3 in the semi-finals of the Ulster Schools' Cup at Ravenhill.

Holders Methody are into the 2013 Schools' Cup final after Wednesday's emphatic 29-3 win over Royal School Armagh at Ravenhill.

They will play RBAI in an all-Belfast final on Monday, 18 March.

Methody were 15-3 up at half-time after tries by Patrick Colhoun, Matthew McIvor and Connor McKee with Alistair Wright landing a penalty for Armagh.

Marc Campbell and James Gallagher got further tries in the second half with both being converted by Bingham.

Methody won 16-0 on the last occasion they met Inst in the final, in 2009.

They got off to fine start in Wednesday's semi-final, with outside centre Colhoun scoring the first try inside the opening 10 minutes.

Midway through the first half, flanker McIvor crashed over from close-range for the second try and then centre McKee got over in the corner to make it 15-3.

Methody added a pushover try through Marc Campbell and late on number eight Gallagher got the final touchdown.
