You just hope that the referee does not impact the game through pickiness but I'm afraid Walsh is the pickiest of the picky and has got "previous" where England are concerned. Had no affect on the result though because Wales were better in all departments - a decent ref would have given us a more competitive match though.
@292 Si,Wales deserved to win, no doubt, but the Ref stopped England playing. Wales would still have won, but England do not deserve to lose by that margin as they had no chance to get any momentum. Well done Wales, deserved winners, Walsh should not be allowed anywhere England games
'291, sammy, look mate just suck on those sour grapes and enjoy, this cos its as close as your getting to a grand slam for the next decade...:-)its not about how good you think you are or how good the media say you are, its about whether when push come to shove you can do it, and england looked like a bunch of boy scouts today, totally dominated in every facet of the game
Men against boys today. I think a little reality here for a few arm chair supporters of all nations. The scrum and tackle area completely dominated by Wales. Looking foward to joining our fellow celts and English brotheren on tour in Aussie land! The Welsh performance was top draw. England are growing and will learn from this. Tuilagi and Barrit need to be changed. Twelvetrees needs to start.
Ref, ref, ref..........If you want to complain look at Roland in the World Cup Semi......
Well done Wales, but... Walsh is a disgrace, why is he chosen to ref England? There was no way England could get on the front foot! The game was over in the first 10 minutes
@287 oh dear he refs to blame, what wa the score 30-3, how many tries did we score, sorry lost count...get a life
Can someone tell me where the match report comment thread is ?
Yes, Wales deserved the win. Simple. Congratulations. This isn't sour grapes this is just logic - Walsh is a disgrace to himself and refereeing. Get him out of the game indefinitely. And just drop Ashton now it's just embarrassing to watch him now.
Hammered. Simple as.
@284 Re-read what he has said and do not put your spin on it or or fall for others' or the media's manipulation of words
@266 G SmithThank you. There is a line that shouldn't be stepped over and North has. Regardless of ancient history, this is one the great international rugby fixtures, not a bar room brawl. It will be intense, it will be brutal and players will get hurt, but regardless of the outcome that pain needs to be administered within the laws of the game, not through thuggery. England by 6 points.
It's currently 53-51 to the Welsh in the 4Ns/5Ns/6Ns, with 12 draws (we have won most of the recent pre-RWC friendlies, to slightly nudge ahead overall). That's how close it is after 130 years, and equally how close it is this week. Nobody is really predicting Saturday's result with any confidence. We would have won if the match was played on 5/2. Who knows now?
Excellent. He's useless as a captain.
An English view on the Welsh team. You have done well to turn things around since your injury troubles in November and at the beginning of the 6Ns. You are back to 80% of your 2012 GS side, and Hibbard is currently better than Rees anyway. You do miss Priestland and Lydiate. Two opensides is a gamble, and your lineout might be vulnerable. Your gameplan will be limited, with Biggar not Hook.
