@298 and but for a lucky bounce in off the post would have been nilled, they say young inexperienced side. But wales have a young improving side also, north & co gonna be around for 10 years yet at top level, front row be gone in 5 years, but we have some great young players we will bed in over next 3-4 years who will dominate for 10 years also
I was at the game. The best atmosphere and build up, topping 1999 in Wembley with TJ and Scott Gibbs. I am still on a high. Wales outplayed England in every position 1-15 - the most complete humiliation. Really can't believe people are going on about the ref. We know the press only ever want to talk about England but here that just rubbed the full dose of salt in the wounds - great reading!
As is always the case the wheel will turn,we have been on the end of some beatings from England and no doubt we will in the future, forget about refs, weather, injuries this was our time and deservedly so,if England had won, they also would be worthy winners,so let's move on and get behind the lions.
@284Thank you. Trust me - 30% of the euphoria is relief after the last nine months (and first 45 mins v Ireland)! True Welsh rugby fans are very good at taking stick good humouredly - years of practice does it! But we will always believe our team is the best thing since sliced bread even when they play badly. There's Welsh for you.
@289 Malcontente................Or why not the Scarlet Ospreys?
@274Only the idiots think that. Will be many Eng players and a fair few Scots/Irish. Most Lions teams have great team spirit.@275You are a muppet. Have you seen the muscles on our boys? Go back to Lego and leave the keyboard alone until you are able to think and post coherently.@277NZ didn't look sick to me. Well, not until the final whistle anyway. Credit where due, Eng beat them - we didn't
@290Well said! Only a moron would've expected that result. Idiots on here have pinched Mam's phone and posting under duvet. Eng's always been team for us to beat in 6N. Many games in 70s were won ugly with a kick deciding it. Only history to consider is rugby history. Back to WC form after last 9 months - still smiling. Most Eng team still raw, but on right road. 12 mths bragging rights till 2014
I have watched the game three times and for the life of me can not see what the english bloggers are complaining about Walsh (other than he is a nob) i think england were lucky to escape quiet a few yellow cards, we handled him better on the day, which has not always been the case, english players failed to adapt.
@284 as a proud nationalist welshman who has many english friends rugby transcends political issues,i also think some the remarks from both sides are beyond the banter, england got stuffed but wales has also in the past had some hammering's from the english. Looking forward to next year, still think the lions is past its sell by date.
@287. Or why not Neath Scarlets. Daft suggestions Owen.
Think the difference in the welsh performance was trying to build a lead to ensure 7 point victory, to many games we've lost to SH teams because we fail to do this, only being 1 or 2 points in front in last 10. If we get the platform of being 8 points in front in last 10 we are going to win all these games, that's the answer
To change the subject, Welsh regional rugby must sort itself out. The teams must be reduced to two in number. Cardiff and Newport must combine and play as the Cardiff Dragons. The Ospreys [ what a daft name ] and the Scarlets must combine and play as the Swansea Scarlets. We should then get some decent results in the Heineken Cup.
Couldn't agree more 284. There has been a level of vitriol on this site that I never experienced on the rugby pitch playing the club game in England or as an Englishmen playing in Wales! Fair play to Wales, an awesome shift from all of your boys, particularly 1 through 8. Halfpenny keeps getting better and better. I almost admitted to colleague that I have a Welsh grandfather. Almost.....
@284 Thanks for that- as a welshman and rugby fan I really appreciate your magnamity in defeat. Congratulations to you guys on a good tournament and I'm sure that you guys will develop into a top quality team. Lancaster has done a fine job and you have some exciting young players. An excellent performance by Wales- da iawn bois! Next step is to kick on and start beating the SH teams.
First off congratulations 2 Wales for a great display on Sat. Having supported England for years it was hard to take but pretty much what we deserved.More disappointing is the so called rugby fans on here just wanting to have a pop at each other, go back to football & leave our game alone. I'd happily have a drink with any rugby fan, take the stick we deserve - as long as they can take it in rtn
Congratulations to Wales on their victory and congratulations also on having the finest referee around in Nigel Owens
Sorry but I agree with Owen. The best Welsh players have already experienced plenty of games against Oz both down under and at home. If only half of them go on the Lions tour it will be against an under prepaired Oz team. If the Lions win the series it wont give a true reflection of how well Wales are doing. Why not concentrate on SA at home this autumn and then away next year before the WC?
@owen swansea, what kinda idiot are you,so you would rather not see more rugby and just sit on your armchair with you pet sheep. the more games the players get to play against SH teams the better. did wales beat them,no. and wales couldnt beat a bad irish side. but you will have an excuse
