Bedford Blues have re-signed their former academy centre Corey Hircock from Munster for next season.

The 22-year-old from Milton Keynes was part of Munster's 2012 British and Irish Cup-winning team and has been playing club rugby with Garryowen.

Blues Director of Rugby Mike Rayer said: "We are really pleased that Corey is coming back home to the Blues.

"We wanted him to sign a development contract back in 2010 but you can't turn down a club like Munster."

He added: "Corey has developed well as a player during his time in Ireland and at just 22 years old he has a long future ahead of him and we are all looking forward to seeing him in a Blues jersey next season."

Bedford, who also signed host Nottingham this Saturday in the first leg of their Championship semi-final at Goldington Road.
