If it improves the quality of rugby then it must be good.
Plastic pitch = more knee injuries. Ask Charlie Hodgson and any American Football player . If you have to play on it every other week it might encourage you to take that offer to play in France rather than end your career early.
82.LozMcTavish Think its time Scotland went into the 2nd Tier. Have Scottish regions ever won anything ever
Crazy to allow a plastic pitch. That said. The club are hardly even half serious and the standard of the team is mediocre at best.
It would be childish to say "Plastic pitch for plastic players" so I'll just say whatever happened to the Stand Alone regions? The "Blues" or "Cardiff" as their "fans" insist on calling them have produced one or two worthy local players, but arguably their best, Halfpenny, comes from Gorseinon!Maybe they'll do again what they've always tried to do - spend, spend, spend!
but think of all the revenue available when the new pitch can be used for corporate entertainment and parking when there are big events at the M Stadium! No damage to 'grass' and lots of 'lolly' for the clubs - Blues & Cardiff.
New pitch. Just need a team and some supporters north of the M4 now. That should only take them 100 years.......
@73 i agee. Scrap NG Dragons and transfer the best players and wru funding to Cardiff and you might have a half decent team to represent SE Wales instead of 2 awful ones.
As a season ticket holder I am over the moon at this news! The pitch towards the end of this season was like a bog with no grass on half of it!All we need now are some quality signings!
About time. That pitch hasn't really been right since they built the Millennium.
Looking at the state of the pitch for most of the past season its the decision that had to be made. Quite a few of the games the Blues lost at home this season may have gone the other way if it wasn't for quagmire conditions. That and if they hadn't got rid of their entire first and second choice front row
Sorry lads ,i am going to be a dinosaur.i think a good team can play on any pitch. The pro game is moving further and further away from the game we played and love, What next non contact scrumaging. As CPB said earlier soft ground gave us slow boys a chance, Bring back grass lol
This is good news. Next move should be to merge with the Newport Gwent Dragons.
they are ripping up the turf tomorrow, i have been down there all week helping with the tag rugby tournaments and they told us its going on Saturday.Good decision as well as it will help produce good running rugby from the blues which is what they need.only a matter of time before the WRU get one in the millennium stadium
Best decision for years. Hope Warriors do the same No complaints re skint knees from Saracen players. In fact I recall an article where they said there was no difference, when compared to a fresh grassy pitch
