Redruth sign winger Rhodri McAtee in coaching shake-up
Redruth have signed former Plymouth Albion and Cornish Pirates winger Rhodri McAtee as player-coach as they shake-up their off-field staff.
McAtee will coach the backs alongside Steve Evans while forwards coach Ashley Morcom has been promoted to head coach.
Adrian Edwards remains as director of rugby, but with a less hands-on role.
"Adrian will work more in the background with sponsors and liaising with the executive committee," Redruth secretary Roger Watson told BBC Sport.
McAtee, is a former Wales sevens international and in November 2011.
"We hoped to get him last year but he had the chance to go to Plymouth and wanted another crack at the Championship," Watson said.
"We've been looking to get him on board for a long time with his wealth of experience as a player.
"We've got some very promising young backs coming through and I think they'll learn an awful lot from Rhodri.
"Playing alongside him can only be beneficial for the team and the future of the club," he added.
Meanwhile the day-to-day coaching will be run by Morcom, with Edwards still responsible for team selection.
"Adrian Edwards's director of rugby role is less hands-on on the rugby side," Watson said.
"We're looking to involve some of the senior players with the coaching next year with an eye to the future," he added.
