Plymouth Albion sign Esher back Chris Elder
Plymouth Albion have signed England Counties centre Chris Elder from National One side Esher.
The 20-year-old, who has played at centre, fly-half and full-back is a former England Under 18's international began his career at Wasps' academy.
Elder scored nine tries and kicked 55 point in 27 games for Esher last season as they came second in National One.
"I'm coming here having proved myself at Esher and I want to fight for a first-team position," he said.
Despite having played at full-back and fly-half, Elder very much sees himself as a centre and is looking to establish himself in that role in the Albion line-up.
"I can play a few positions, but personally I see myself as an inside centre," he told BBC South West Sport.
"That's where I love to play and that's where I feel I play my best rugby.
"At Esher we lost our fly-half before the season started, so I stepped up and got experience there."
Elder becomes the seventh new player to join Plymouth Albion this summer.
