Leicester Tigers prop Mulipola signs new contract

Logovi'i Mulipola

Samoa prop Logovi'i Mulipola has agreed a new contract with Leicester Tigers.

The 26-year-old joined the Premiership champions after the 2011 World Cup and has played more than 40 games since making his debut in January 2012.

Leicester have not revealed the length of Mulipola's deal but describe it as "long term".

"Logo made a big impact when he first came and he has continued to improve in a very strong group of props," said director of rugby Richard Cockerill.

"Having the likes of Marcos Ayerza, Dan Cole, Martin Castrogiovanni and Boris Stankovich around has helped him enormously and now he is firmly established in our senior squad.

"With Jerome Schuster coming into the group for the new season too, there is a good pool of players working together and getting better.

"Logo is very keen to learn his trade, he wants to improve and as a prop he still has a long career ahead of him."

Tigers have already confirmed new agreements with Mathew Tait, George Chuter, Sam Harrison and Manu Tuilagi.

And Graham Kitchener, Steve Mafi, Niall Morris, Geoff Parling, Julian Salvi, and Ben and Tom Youngs are also among the senior players who have agreed new terms.
