Edinburgh's rebuilding process continues with the signing of loose forward Mike Coman from New Zealand side Hawke's Bay.
The 25-year-old has agreed a two-year contract, subject to a visa being granted and a medical examination.
He will arrive in Scotland in October, once his current club's ITM Cup campaign is over.
A former New Zealand under-19 international, Coman also has Super Rugby experience with the Hurricanes.
"I still have a job to do with the Magpies but I'm really excited about what lies ahead in Edinburgh," Coman told the club website.
"All the research I've done tells me that it's a club on the rise, and I can't wait to get involved and make a positive contribution to their success."
