Redruth must build on narrow defeat by Bournemouth - Morcom

Redruth coach Ashley Morcom says his side have to build on their encouraging display against Bournemouth in Saturday's clash with Exmouth.

The Reds took two bonus points against Bournemouth, and Morcom said they should take confidence from their performance on the south coast.

"Two bonus points is a big feather in our cap. We just need to build on that," he told BBC Radio Cornwall.

"This week we just need to kick-start our own form."

Redruth, in 12th place, are one point ahead of Exmouth in the National League Two South table, but Morcom says he expects a real challenge.

"They've got a pretty good pack and backline so in some respects they've got the complete package," he added.

"And we know what Jon Hill's about, we know what style of rugby he likes to play and we've cut our cloth accordingly this week.

"But we've struggled with a few knocks and bruises especially in the back row, but we're on the way up and we've got probably eight or 10 players to come back in the next couple of weeks."
