Redruth coach Ashley Morcom said he was frustrated not to come away with a win after seeing his side lose 14-13 to Dings Crusaders at the weekend.
The Reds lost away to Dings by two points last season and got even closer on Saturday but fell just short.
"We should have come away with a bit more - we bombed probably three or four chances to go ahead early on," he told BBC Radio Cornwall.
"At Dings you have to take what you can, they're a very abrasive side."
Redruth took a losing bonus point from the game, but Morcom said it could have been even more.
"We threw everything we've got at them and they withstood the storm," he added.
"Dings kick the ball a lot and try to beat you in the forwards. We took them on up front and they kicked the ball so they didn't let us down on that front.
"But we've taken some big positives out of it. Dings is a very tricky place to play rugby.
"We got close to them last year and it was the same again this year."
