Hi all, hope it's not too off topic, but I've just watched the lions raw DVD and I have to say what a credit Andy Irvine was to Scotland on that tour. I know the scots didn't have that many players but he definitely made a difference in his humility, understanding of the lions ethos and leadership.Well done Andy and good luck to Scotland this weekend.
Yes and worse - one that refers to himself in the 3rd person, which is never acceptable
@115 it seems that a wild troll has appeared ......

not sure why all the fuss abt brown being rested and barclay in. gd call in my opininion and i think browns long term place in team is under threat. back row looks nicely balanced now, no coincidence barclay was playing last time we beat boks in 2010.
"Kelly Brown's non-involvement will raise a few eyebrows for sure"Hopefully not Kelly's though...fork-lift needed!
@ You'@ 98 The Ox is in Young Street and I think that Ian is not around this weekend as he is on a book signing tour.'Agreed - sorry for my directions cock-up, probably a result of me spending too much time in the Ox! Still, a good place for pre-match beer however! - despite Ian R or Mr Rebus not being there! Still hoping for torrential weather to help Scotland's efforts...
@110 Definitely away at present. Terrible bloody place though.... Too many old soaks....

@108I think he was doing it to raise money for charity... the bloody hooligan
Sweet baby jesus and the orphans, look at the state of his tasche! what is he trying to prove with that on his lip?!? This to me signifies why I don't watch this peanut hugging toff sport. Ruddy hooligans.
I hope Denton and co can match the Boks for 80 minutes, Seymour looks like a good finisher an I hope Maitland gets the ball in a bit of space. Can't see tries coming from anywhere else though in the back line. Game will be won and lost on who scores from @103 really? Interesting view on the game...@83/84 why are you arguing with yourself? haha
Shame the game is on a Sunday, just never the same atmosphere. Curse of modern day and TV schedules I guess. Will be having a few myself pre match (just to keep the cold out of course) Post match entirely depends on the performance if not the result itself! We've got a chance to win it but I'l take an improved performance on last week and a couple of trys
http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/rugby-union/24944505Is there for the England game.
@88 How do you work that out, or do you still buy the lie about the Barnett formula? Scotland has a set budget. No borrowing. All that £1tn is to subsidise London. You'll have to borrow MORE to take up the slack from oil revenue....Anyway, here's to a win now and a yes next September.
@100 Scotland don't need more then a prayer, they are a good strong growing side look at what happened during the summer. That yellow card was the reason SA won Scotland had the upper hand pretty much all of that game before the card.
101 Denis - agreed, I might actually have to do some work instead, lol.Good luck to Scotland - get in their faces, keep it tight and you can do it.
Still can't believe that on the day before such a great looking rugby weekend there is no general rugby thread! Come on BBC! Back to this thread, good luck to Scotland - I think you may need it!
