Cornish Pirates have signed scrum-half Conner Fullerton as cover for captain Gavin Cattle, who is to undergo exploratory ankle surgery.
The 18-year-old New Zealander moves to the Mennaye on a short-term deal.
"With Gavin needing an operation and Mike Pope currently injured, this is a very timely boost for the squad," Pirates boss Ian Davies said.
A member of Hamilton Old Boys in New Zealand, Fullerton also represented Waikato's Under-18 side last year.
Fullerton arrives as a back-up scrum-half with Tom Kessell the first-choice number nine.
