Connacht fly-half Kyle Tonetti has been forced to retire from rugby due to a long-standing ankle injury.

The former Leinster and Sale player, 26, said he has made the decision after numerous surgeries on his ankle.

"After exhausting all options, I have come to terms with the fact that I will not be playing at this level again," he said

Tonetti played 18 times for Connacht since joining in November 2011 and represented Ireland at Under-20 level.
