Ashley Morcom: Redruth boss calls for an upturn in away form

Redruth RFC

Redruth boss Ashley Morcom wants his side to take their form from the win against promotion-chasing Ampthill into Saturday's clash at Bishop's Stortford.

The Reds at the Rec last week to move seven points clear of the National League Two South relegation zone.

They have beaten the top three at home, but struggled on the road this term.

"We've got to go into the away games with the mentality that we're trying to win," Morcom told BBC Radio Cornwall.

Morcom's side have won just one of their 13 away league games, compared to 10 of 14 home games.

"Let's go there and not try and consolidate," Morcom said.

"Let's go there and show Bishop's Stortford how far we've come along through this season.

"Everybody ups their games to play the top three or five, and Bishop's Stortford are top five.

"It's important that we focus through the next four weeks to make sure that Redruth are safe for next season," he added.
