Stuart Lancaster says he has "learned who can consistently deliver at this level" in New Zealand

Stuart Lancaster says England players will use the heavy defeat in the third Test against New Zealand as motivation so it never happens again.

Head coach Lancaster's team lost 36-13 in Hamilton, having pushed the All Blacks close in the first two Tests.

England were beaten 20-15 in Auckland and 28-27 in Dunedin, despite leading for parts of both games.

"If anything, this defeat should fire a steely determination to never let it happen again," said Lancaster.

"We were beaten by a better team and this series has been challenging.

"I'd be very surprised if there are any players who believe the loss has dented their self-belief to a point where they don't believe they can achieve.

England were the last team to beat New Zealand, winning 38-21 at Twickenham in December 2012

"I'll ensure the players use it as strong motivation rather than allowing it to develop into a negative mindset."

England's next international is against New Zealand at Twickenham on 8 November as they continue to build up to the World Cup, which begins in September next year.

Although they lost the Test series 3-0, Lancaster says there are plenty of positives to take from the tour.

"We have definitely learned a lot about the players and we have made some good progress throughout the course of the season," he said.

"What's happened here does not deviate from the overall objective of getting the team ready for 2015.

"I wouldn't say some players have had their last chance, but certainly we've learned who can consistently deliver at this level."
