Tyler Bleyendaal's Munster move delayed by neck injury
Fly-half Tyler Bleyendaal's move to Munster in November has been delayed because the player requires surgery on a neck injury.
Bleyendaal, a former junior All Blacks captain, hopes to be able to join up with the Irish province in 2015.
The 24-year-old's Canterbury club said he would miss the rest of the ITM Cup season.
"I am looking forward to contributing to Munster's campaign once I have fully recovered," Bleyendaal said.
Bleyendaal has been unavailable for Canterbury because of a sore neck and a scan has revealed he has a prolapsed disc.
It is a major blow to Munster just a few days after they started their Pro12 campaign with a 14-13 defeat by Edinburgh at Thomond Park.
Anthony Foley's men are away to Italian side Treviso on Friday.
