Cornish Pirates director of rugby Ian Davies felt "gifted" points cost his side as they slipped to successive home defeats in the Championship.
Former Redruth number eight Mark Bright bagged a hat-trick as London Scottish won 30-19 at the Mennaye on Sunday.
"Last week (against Yorkshire Carnegie) the scoreline may have flattered us with two late scores," Davies said.
"But this week we were in it until we gifted two scores and within two minutes they'd scored 12 points."
scored his second hat-trick in eight days to leave the Pirates winless and pointless after their first two fixtures.
"Brighty's a class act, he's probably the best forward in the Championship," Davies told BBC Radio Cornwall.
"I thought we competed well and nullified a lot of what they were trying to do, but you just can't give a powerful pack like that field position."
