Cornish Pirates boss Ian Davies says Sunday's Championship match with Bristol will be a step up in class.

"They haven't changed their style, they've just got better players playing it," Davies told BBC Radio Cornwall.

"Guys like Matthew Morgan and Dwayne Peel are at the top end of the game, so to be able to recruit them shows the ambition that Bristol have got."

"It shows the quality of player we'll be up against," Davies continued.

Props Jamal Ford-Robinson and Tyler Gendall come into a new-look front row, while there is a start at full-back for Kyle Moyle in place of Canada international Matt Evans.

"We knew when the fixtures came out it was a particularly tough start to the season," Davies added.

"We're frustrated we've not picked up any points yet but the improvement in performance in the second game was there for anyone to see."
