Saracens have signed former Northampton Saints and Bath hooker Brett Sharman.
The 27-year-old, who has made 49 career appearances in the Aviva Premiership, has signed a contract with Sarries until the end of the season.
Schalk Brits, Saracens' first-choice hooker, is out for several months after sustaining knee ligament damage.
Saracens director of rugby Mark McCall said: "Brett has plenty of Premiership experience and we believe he will fit in to our environment extremely well."
Sharman, who last played in the top flight in December 2012, had been on trial at the club.
The South Africa-born player had his contract terminated by Northampton in August 2012 following a long-standing knee injury.
His departure from Franklin's Gardens came the day after the club announced the forward was subject to internal disciplinary procedures after he posted an offensive message about Olympic gold medallist Mo Farah on Twitter.
Sharman subsequently joined Bath on a short-term deal but only made three league appearances, all as a replacement, for the club.
