not sure Gatland has the coaching nous to play a high tempo 15 man gameif you look at the backs then wales should be better, Welsh primary tactic is to defend and try to force turnovers. He was the same at wasps where he had some class big defenders, same tactics, but times have changed, WG hasn't ! i think he's a good motivator physiologically but wales need a great head coach, WG team manager

A man has to know his limitations! The Southern Hemisphere worked out Warren Ball some time ago!Time for a Welsh manager to release Welsh flair not robots playing a robotic game plan!!!
It worries me that Southern Hemisphere coaches come to Wales their own man and end up doing what the 'Rugby Establishment' expects of them. The choice of Priestland when his confidence appears shattered and Philips who has lost a yard or two reflects a lack of development of youngsters. If yo drop Adam Jones then drop others.Southern hemispher philosophy? If your good enough your old enough!
@645 that is true & I think SA have a great balance thereAs a nation & regions Wales need to do more to bring back talent from England, 25 Welsh qualified players played for AP clubs this weekend 12 for clubs in the Champions Cup, we have to look to get these players in WalesI personally think sponsorship & pro12 money would be better spent on another Scottish pro team than the Italian teams
643 I'd agree with that with Jarvis covering TH.Evans is rated highly, but the intensity lack if experience against the Bok back is probably too big an ask with no experience.
642 JohnnyWALTerrifying isn't it.There is rarely a great 7 without a very fine supporting 6. Richard Hill was one of the finest who you never heard mentioned by a commentator. Not seen and not heard.6 to slow them and not give penalties away.7 to steal the ball with occasional penalties.(McCaw to make the rest look normal)
Ok fair enoughI was just trying to find some glimmer of hope for Wales
Rhodri Jones is a converted loose head maybe he will fill in there if Jenkins is unavailable. I don't think it would be wise to throw a player in who hasn't had much time with the camp into the starting XV. At least jones has experienced the intensity off the bench this autumn.
@639 completely forgot about Smith, who I personally think with Lobbe does a lot of work of the ball allowing Armitage to put in such devastating performanceYeah sure they're really disappointed about their 3rd choice back rows beating the NH teams regularly aha Really shows the lack of depth we have up here
636 - so do France a lot of the time, or at the very least are far more flexible on who takes the role depending on the situation.
