#236 If you are going to constantly accuse Stuart Lancaster of being an amateur, perhaps you should learn how to spell it, otherwise there is a risk that people might think that you don't know what you are talking about.
what needs to be looked at seriously is why english clubs don't create top class centers with any regularity.the national coach can only work with what the clubs produce and what they produce with only a few exceptions aren't world class. no english player has the handling skills of an allblack. this is what needs to change from grass root up, not lancaster, and that is down to the RFU
Cannot believe the criticism Lancaster is getting after beating Australia & narrow defeats to SA & NZ with is first choice centres & props unavailableJudge him after the WC, if he fails to get past the QF then the set up must be looked at again but teams respect England again now thanks to Lancasters regime, he has done a marvellous job as has Rowntree, Farrel & Catt on the other hand...
none of the 12's are a complete player yet, and none of them have stood up and shone when they've got their chance.tuilagi is the better at 13 but needs to learn to distribute and link better.barrit does a job. which is be very solid though uninspiring.it's what lancaster has to work with and he can't be blamed for this.he has identified plenty of talent, it's now their job to step up
236 Island JBBring back MJ and sack the players?!!! What rubbish. This England team is not gifted in midfield with the likes of Guscott or Greenwood, but the pack is V strong, and will dominate most at HQ. The backs will be direct, and granted that the attack flair is missing, but to compare with the MJ era is madness.
230. IslandJB 228 For me England and Wales are stuck not in a rut but a moat that just keeps taking them around in circle.Look who's talking! Heaping endless criticism on the players and management doesn't exactly help. Sack the players? Yeah, that'd yield results wouldn't it!!!When we lose to top sides you moan we're losing, when we beat them you moan about the style in which we do it.
234 2010 Eng 35 18 Aus against a far better Aus team. The truth is the RFU have failed England this last 11 years. Lancaster another armature coach with no international experience with no idea on how to pick a team. More school teacher than coach. Another RFU failure. We have been here many times before England set up to fail. It would have been better with MJ. Its the players that needed sacking
234, So is it the 9 point victory over Australia which has convinced you that the coaches are out of their depth, or is it back to back defeats by 3 points to the two best sides in world rugby. Also who do you suggest takes over - perhaps a return to the Johnson era where the squad resembled a bunch of 30 somethings on a stag weekend, or maybe we could get Andy Robinson back.
I think Lancaster and Farrell are out of their depth to be honest. They have run out of ideas now.
232 When both have been available, I think SL has always gone with Barritt + Tuilagi - a lot of the chopping and changing has been through injury.England are not far away, the pack are missing 6 British Lions plus Launchbury through injury and have still had a great autumn, we have options in the back 3, the midfield is the final piece in the jigsaw
Lancaster and Farrell can bang on about being a young team all they want but they've had this team for 3 years now. They're not "at the start". This is a young team because they've been picking young players. There are too many excuses.Talking about picking centres to compliment the fullback is also bizarre, why not vice versa?! Even Italy and Scotland have more settled midfields.
Another area of concern for England other than the centres is the right side both Aus and NZ have exploited defensive frailties there both in the summer tour and the Ai's, some on here associated the lack of tries and poor defence on the right with chris ashton (unfairly I thought ) but it seems again its something to do with the structure of the team as others played haven't improved this issue
