Gloucester ended their European Rugby Challenge Cup Pool 5 campaign with victory at French side Brive.
Two tries in five minutes from Matt Kvesic and Dan Robson helped the visitors into an 17-6 half-time lead.
Two players from each side were sin-binned, while both teams had penalty tries in the second half.
Kvesic went over again while James Hook kicked his fourth conversion to add to two earlier penalties, before Thomas Acquier scored a late try for Brive.
Gloucester go through as group winners and top seeds because of their 100%-winning record and they will have a home tie in the quarter-finals.
Brive's Riaan Swanepoel scored two first-half penalties, with Hook replying for Gloucester in between, as the home side opened up a three-point lead at the midway point of the period.
But two quick scores turned the game on its head as Kvesic's catch and drive was followed by a well-worked try, which was finished off by Robson, with Hook converting both.
Brive were reduced to 14 men just before the break as Pat Barnard was sin-binned, but the numbers were evened up when Tevita Halaifonnua was shown yellow.
The hosts were then down to 13 with Karlen Asieshvili sin-binned, before Gloucester were awarded a penalty try and Hook's conversion put them 24-6 in front.
Brive were awarded a penalty try when Gloucester pulled down a driving maul and Swanepoel added the extras.
Gloucester's Hook became the fourth player to be shown a yellow card, before Kvesic went over for his second try to claim a bonus point for the visitors.
There was still time for Brive replacement Acquier to go over for a try, which was added to by Nicolas Bezy's conversion.
