Fly-half Tom Catterick has signed a new two-year deal with Newcastle Falcons.

Darlington-born Catterick, 24, came through the Falcons' youth ranks and made his senior debut in the 2009-10 European Challenge Cup, before his Premiership bow later that season.

He has since played 34 league games across the backline, but has emerged as a fly-half this term under the guidance of attack coach Dave Walder.

"I'm really happy, I wanted to stay here," said Catterick.

"The way we've performed the past few years we're slowly building and I'd love to be here throughout until we win something.

"I'd love to be here to eventually get into the top four and a Premiership final."
