Full-back Alex Tait has signed a two-year deal to remain with Premiership side Newcastle Falcons.
Tait, 26, has made 145 appearances for the Falcons since his debut against Spanish side Cetransa El Salvador in the 2008-09 European Challenge Cup.
He was the players' player of the year last season and won the Ken Lockerbie Trophy for most consistent performer.
"Alex is another of our talented local contingent," said director of rugby Dean Richards.
Tait added: "It's good to have agreed to stay at Kingston Park for at least two more seasons.
"It has been my club for my whole professional career and, being from the area, it is great I am going to be able to continue to pull on that shirt and represent the area."
