@373 another saddo with a chip on his shoulder. Always critical of anything English and trying desperately to justify the jingoism. Get a life man
As a nation England need to be realistic, and the autumn matches showed why.Among non English, You are too arrogant to be liked, commentators like Brian Moore just give people a headache with the biased narrative and laments.10 years of misfiring Heineken cups, whining until it was reconstructed shows sour grapes and we are bored with you. Martin Johnson was a great, respect was due to him.
Cliffy - maybe he needs more support to go with him and give him options and he comes infield so as not to get isolated. Maybe...(though is butchered overal vs Ita would suggest not). Lack of support for the front runner is a distinct issue with Eng at the moment.
Cobbled together England? What a bunch of bull! England have amazing strength in depth and Lancaster has never really known what his best team is. As to England being apparently good at closing games out, why have they failed to win a grand slam since 2003.
I wonder if JM runs sideways by default as at club level a gap will open and his pace takes him through it. At the top international level, NZ and SA, these holes rarely materialise. Subsequently, he crabs further and further in field looking for the non existent hole squeezing the space his team mates have to work in.
Glaws - how about citing Webb for a high junmp leading with the knee and risking a head injury to Russell?
You do realise on here that Nowell has had 2 ops which enabled him to become faster and stronger than last year.he has put on 9kg,which is a lot,I agree he's not as quick as some but hulk hogan could probably hit bigger sixes than Ricky pointing but it don't me he's a better bat!Pace pace pace is not everything!
Just seen the video of Russell's tackle on Biggar that has been deemed worthy of citing.Looks like he is going for the ball and suddenly realises he is in danger of getting Biggar's knees in his face and turns away. Don't see the problem unless it is with Biggar's leaping into contact. If you are going to challenge for the ball like that then on your head be it - literally!
Think Nowell better at 13 as he has not the pure pace to be an international Winger. Back up for JJ?
Like others here, I am a bit sick of this clever-clever BBC nitpicking on every aspect of England. Remember; this is a half strength, cobbled together team culled from those still standing. They have beaten everything put in front of them so far - I am sorry they haven't managed ot beat Ireland without playing them, BBC - but you watch in 2 weeks!
@357 Think you may be confusing England with Wales, I think England can close a game out ... if we get that close. As for Easter, he offers experience and should be less likely to give away late penalties than BV or Big Ben. Issue is not Eng throwing it away ... Ireland were excellent against an agressive France ... I don't expect Irish half backs to relish a physical game Sexton did on saturday.
@360 JM has moments of brilliance, it is his preferred option of running sideways that causes me frustration. They can all miss tackles, but others compensate with decisive attacking play. BTW ... N Falcons fan

The bookies have Ireland 1 point better and I think it might be that close. If missing is Heaslip it is a big loss, though and I have a gut feeling Eng might just squeak it. May is the only real weakness I see in this team.
