Sale Sharks forward Magnus Lund has agreed a new two-year contract with the Premiership side.

The 31-year-old back-row forward returned to the club last summer after six years at Top 14 side Biarritz.

Lund, a member of Sale's 2006 Premiership-winning side, earned 10 England caps before his move to France.

"I was delighted to sign Magnus in the summer and he has fitted in perfectly with the squad," Sale boss Steve Diamond told BBC Sport.

"Magnus has played in 20 games this season and his consistent performances attracted the interest of two other Premiership clubs looking to try and sign him."

The Manchester-born flanker had a spell as captain of Biarritz and was also in the team that finished runners-up to Toulouse in the 2010 Heineken Cup.
