Newcastle Falcons have signed prop Ben Harris from Championship side Yorkshire Carnegie on a two-year deal from the 2015-16 season onwards.
Loose-head specialist Harris, 25, can play on both sides of the scrum and has representative honours for Yorkshire and England Counties.
He will add cover to a front row which will loses the services of Kieran Brookes to Northampton next season.
"There is a really good vision and a really good plan," said Harris.
"There are some quality coaches and a really good squad that already has fantastic players there. I want to go up and learn as much as I can and test myself at the top end of the game."
Harris spoke with Falcons director of rugby Dean Richards before agreeing terms, who is delighted to have acquired another Championship talent.
Falcons have enjoyed success in bringing in second-tier players, with Dom Barrow and Calum Green from Leeds and Ruki Tipuna of Bristol all playing major roles in the 2014-15 Premiership campaign.
"Ben is a very well regarded young prop who has been being watched by a number of clubs after impressing in the Championship and I am pleased that he will be making his way to us for next season," said Richards.
"He will add to our prop options and will complement and enhance the talent pool we already have in that position."
