Edinburgh have signed Scotland youth cap Blair Kinghorn on a two-year contract from Edinburgh Academicals.

The 18-year-old fly-half will join the Pro12 club after playing in this summer's World Rugby Under-20 Championship in Italy.

Kinghorn enjoyed spending some time with Edinburgh before joining up with the Scotland Under-18 squad.

"I've been doing kicking practice at Murrayfield with Chris Paterson, too, which has been great," he said.

"He's someone I've really looked up to, growing up."

The Edinburgh Academy pupil is also captain of his school team.

"Everything seems to be happening quickly at the moment and I just need to keep working hard and take the opportunity I've been given with both hands," Kinghorn added.

"I'm in my last year at school and I'll be sitting exams while I'm out in Italy, too."
