Seremaia Bai: Leicester Tigers centre banned for season

Seremaia Bai leaves the field after being sent off in Leicester's win over Wasps
Bai joined Tigers from French side Castres last summer and made 14 appearances this season

Leicester centre Seremaia Bai will miss the rest of the season after being banned for three weeks for charging in to a ruck in Saturday's win over Wasps.

The Fiji international was sent off by referee Wayne Barnes for charging in to Nathan Hughes and pleaded guilty at a Rugby Football Union disciplinary hearing on Wednesday.

He will miss the final Premiership game of the season, against Northampton.

And Bai, 36, would also miss the play-offs should Tigers qualify.

Bai is free to play again from 1 June, but the Premiership final is played on 30 May.
