Launceston have appointed Mike Lewis as their new head coach.

Lewis replaces Neil Bayliss at the helm of the National Two South side after he resigned last month after budget cuts.

Lewis, who was forwards coach under Bayliss, will continue to coach the club's pack alongside his head coach duties at Polson Bridge.

Strength and conditioning coach Ryan Westren will coach the club's backs and be assisted by fly-half Kieron Lewitt, who is recovering from a knee injury.

Launceston have lost a host of players from the squad which finished 10th in National Two South last season.

A number, such as scrum-half Matt Shepherd, centre Jake Murphy, fly-half Billy Searle and back Jon Dawe, have moved to nearby Plymouth Albion following their relegation to National One.
