Pro12: Edinburgh's Ben Toolis has elbow surgery

Edinburgh lock Ben Toolis has had surgery on an elbow injury.

The 23-year-old picked up the problem in the latter stages of Edinburgh's 27-24 Pro12 win over Treviso on 12 September.

Australia-born Toolis joined Edinburgh in 2013 and won his first Scotland cap during this season's Six Nations.

He was called into Vern Cotter's extended training squad ahead of the Rugby World Cup but did not make the head coach's final cut.
