Glasgow Warriors' fly-half Rory Clegg is leaving the club to play for French Top 14 outfit Oyonnax Rugby when his contract expires at the end of October.

Clegg, 25, signed a short-term deal at Scotstoun in the summer and has acted as cover during the Rugby World Cup.

He scored all Glasgow's points in Friday's 23-21 defeat away to Munster.

"Rory has been an excellent addition to our squad. We would like to wish him all the best in France," said Warriors' head coach Gregor Townsend.

"He has played very well in the start to the Guinness Pro12, which is a result of both his rugby ability and also his professionalism.

"He's worked hard to improve himself over the past two months and we are looking forward to having Rory with us before he departs for a new challenge."

Hannover-born Clegg has represented England Saxons and England Under-20s.
