England Saxons prop Scott Wilson has agreed a new three-year contract with Newcastle Falcons.
Tight-head Wilson, 21, has made 49 appearances for the first team since progressing from the Premiership club's academy set-up.
He joined the Falcons aged 14 and made his debut during the 2012-13 Championship campaign.
"Playing Premiership rugby has been tough going and has really tested me out," Wilson said.
"I just want to develop, we have some really good coaches here who I get on with well and who have made the decision to say really simple."
Director of rugby Dean Richards added: "He has already shown a great deal of skill and ability since his first appearance against Cross Keys [in the British & Irish Cup].
"When you think front row forwards don't really come into their prime until their late twenties or early thirties, he has so much potential to realise."
