Scarlets back row Tom Phillips will captain Wales Under-20s in this season's Six Nations Championship.

Phillips, who has made four appearances for his region this season, played twice in last year's competition when Wales won three of their five games.

The squad includes another 11 players who made their U20 debuts last season.

"Our targets, primarily, are to play a style of rugby which is enjoyable to play and watch, and will benefit player development," said coach Jason Strange.

Blues prop Dillon Lewis, Scarlets fly-half Dan Jones, Blues fly-half Jarrod Evans and Ospreys centre Owen Watkin are the other players includes who have played regional games this season.

Former Newport fly-half Strange will take charge for the first time when Wales travel to Ireland on the opening weekend of the competition on Friday, 5 February.

"Victories are important, but a bigger agenda is to prepare players for the professional game by exposing them to international rugby," Strange said.

"For us, Tom Phillips was an obvious choice as captain, he is someone who leads by example both on and off the pitch."
