Dave HarrisLondon WelshAlong lines of are they "Welsh enough" to wear the shirt ???Similar stuff now with language, birthplace and residence as touched on in this HYS (not just Wales).(Scotland had big issues picking England based footballers in 70s and 80s)GRJ has book out on similar theme "Insufficiently Welsh" not read it nor looked at pics to be fair.

I remember all of the players you mention, and my schooldays in Wales and uni days in London crossed the 70s and early 80s. There was no "stick". We were all just proud of their achievements. I never heard a word against them.
Dave Regardless of who does it - it removes the integrity of out international rugby to the point where there's no point in international teams - because it has not become about who is truly the best international side, the "qualification" Residency rule makes it tantamount to club Rugby.Nobody should benefit (least of all biggest unions) & nobody should suffer. This is what's happening
475 Dave Harris"Anglo sellout", London Welsh players got stick for not being based in Wales.Should WRU ask London Welsh to blood younger players and get used to Championship ??? (John Dawes, JPR Williams, Gerald Davies, John Taylor, Mervyn Davies, Mike Roberts and Geoff Evans = some LW players of yesteryear).Should LW, LS and LI play in Pro15 ???
Re: Phil Bennett.Fallout of team talk probably poisoned atmosphere when skipper of 1977 Lions.Brilliant player especially having burden of following BJ.Is calling opponents b-word citeable offence now ???Brilliant commentator (in both languages).
@470 I'm going to back Wales to win the game. England/Wales games are generally close games, and the daft timing of this game, the day after the AP and Pro12 finals, means that England will probably be missing more players than Wales. In terms of the tours, 3-0 whitewash to the antipodeans, both.

Sorry if I misinterpreted your pics comment. I thought it was sarky, but perhaps not.Genuine thanks for that article. Food for thought on both sides.
472 Dave Harris MAWell done. Were you deemed to be a "Anglo sellout" not going to a Wales based Uni ???Was meaning for me, "picture worth a thousand words".Link to "Independent" newspaper article (albeit from 2005).http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/rugby-union-welsh-caught-in-time-warp-as-they-endlessly-replay-rugbys-class-war-1529013.html.
469 RosslynCricketers, clubs in Oz and UK, named for nomadic club set up not ethnic/racial origins of players. Can anyone check Walesforever1 is okay, not been on to give us FACTS recently.463 Nimrod 2Props in modern day aren't fat, is ballast ???Albeit in olden days taken on in liquid form generally.Forwards should go back to baggier shirts, scrum and maul better.
468. Posted by Woofwoof on 28 minutes agoPlease be assured I don't need pics in a book, as I have an MA in History (from an English university). Anyway, I've only heard of PB's alleged talk 2nd hand, but I don't recall any incitement to violence - only to intense commitment in the game. I freely admit that I don't recall what game it was. PB was hardly one of rugby's bruisers, agreed?
@470 If Gatland can get Wales going early I could see them really being close even winning the first test by catching a rusty New Zealand. If they don't it could be a right mauling in all 3. And I think you're right about Aus!
