Saracens and England lock Maro Itoje is on a six-man shortlist for the Premiership Player of the Season award.

The 21-year-old was named European Player of the Year after Saturday's Champions Cup final win over Racing 92.

Itoje, who made his England debut during this year's successful Six Nations campaign, is joined by Sarries team-mate Alex Goode on the shortlist.

Exeter Chiefs duo Don Armand and Gareth Steenson, and Wasps pair Charles Piutau and George Smith are also nominated.

Sarries director of rugby Mark McCall is on a four-man shortlist for the Premiership Director of Rugby of the Season award.

The 48-year-old Irishman, who won the award in 2013 and 2014, will be leading his side in the Premiership play-off semi-finals against Leicester Tigers on Saturday.

He is up against Exeter head coach Rob Baxter - who led the Chiefs to their first top-four finish - Sale Sharks' Steve Diamond and Wasps' Dai Young.
