Steve Larkins: Redruth head coach resigns, Marek Churcher to replace him

Redruth head coach Steve Larkins has resigned from his role and will be replaced by backs coach Marek Churcher.

Larkins had been in charge since 2014 and guided the club to fourth place in National League Two South last season.

"With a young family, Steve has found it hard with all the travelling and away games we do," chairman Treve Dunstan told BBC Radio Cornwall.

"We respect his decision. He leaves the club in a healthy position, on a high after where we finished last season."

Churcher has also been part of the coaching setup at Exeter Chiefs' academy and will be assisted by ex-Redruth forward Adrian Rutter and former Cornish All Blacks centre Pale Nonu, who previously played for Plymouth Albion.

"We're more than happy with the three coaches we have," Dunstan added. "Marek is a proven coach with a wealth of coaching experience. We thank Steve for all his hard work over the last couple of seasons."
