@489. TARW no mate, we are just dispelling the myth that is welsh rugby, question? "how can you say welsh rugby or gatland is great when they have a 51% win ratio"?its nonsense, stop trying to dress it up with a couple of sticky grand slams!!!welsh rugby and gatland are on the slide and i don't think they will recover.i'm not anti welsh I'm anti BS, get real, its utter mediocrity !!
The anti Welsh brigade is out in force, I don't know why. Gatland has already stated that the current form of English players is looking promising. That will still not stop the Irish and Scots from complaining when he announces is squad, in about 9 months time. They just do not accept that their players are not good enough.Gatland bias of course.
Long White Cloud and LKOE well you two certainly do dislike everything Welsh your posts over the years have proved that. Get a life the pair of you!!Gatland is the Lions coach, probably the best available.Surely even you one eyed pair must realise you are going against the tide so give it a rest guys you really are boring us all to death.
Dear me, we're 9 months away from the tour and already there's whinging, verbal blows being traded, people selecting their starting 15, complaining about Gatland's selection policy etc. What will it be like when he announces his squad next year. If England continue to progress they are likely to dominate the squad, with a smattering of Welsh. That will leave the Irish and Scots complaining AGAIN.
It is obvious that Gatland must be Lions coach. His record with Wales shows he is the only truly great coach in recent years - he could make Italy challengers for the 6N.Even if Eddie Jones were available he has yet to do anything similar with England maybe back to back RWCs could compare with what Gatland has done with Wales.
From what I can hear on this board could you imagine how good wales would be if gatland was not in charge!! We would be imense if we had Schmidt at the helm!!
@482 Please stop misquoting me.I didn't say "worst oppo ever". I said it was the worst Australia team for 20 years. The fact that they normally play to a high standard has that. You've come to accept that Ireland, Scotland & England beat them as separate teams around then, well done, the conclusion that a team made up of these teams, plus Wales, should beat that Australia team isn't a giant leap
481 LKOEProbably right. The Gatland lobbying started straight after the tour and you need look little farther than this website acting as his personal PR outlet sometimes! But we are are where we are. I hope he picks the best team available at the time and reads some new playbooks before the off. Otherwise...it's a long way off and not keeping me awake at night.Wake me in March!
@472 doesn't it depend upon the players rather than the team? You'd still pick Parisse despite the fact he plays for Italy, right?
LKOE "Made Up" / "massively mis-represented" / "slanted to suit agenda", whateverScotland beat Australia 3rds 6-9 in the wettest test since Noah put the posts up, a year before the Lions tour. Ireland beat them 18 mths before at the WC & England the Autumn after the Lions.Australia beat Wales & England away in Autumn before the Lions, hardly the form of "worst oppo ever"
@475I think the logic must be that Wales recent results are a reflection of Gatland being a great coach, 3rd place is great if you went through a wooden spoon era a decade ago.Maybe the thinking is England should have won a GS every years as Eddie Jones is showing - so Lancaster is poor.Gatland also represents the best chance for Wales players to take part in the Lions
