Munster have brought in South African centre Jaco Taute in a four-month loan deal as cover for injured pair Francis Saili and Sammy Arnold.

The 25-year-old Stormers and Western Province player, who made three appearances for the Springboks in 2012, can also operate at full-back.

Meanwhile, the Irish province has been hit with two fresh injury setbacks.

Ireland wing Simon Zebo (fractured rib) is out for five weeks and hooker Kevin Byrne (elbow) will miss three months.

Zebo and Byrne were both injured in Saturday's Pro12 victory over the Scarlets.

Taute's move to Munster is subject to the player being granted a valid work permit.
