Ospreys number eight Dan Baker has signed a new deal, keeping him with his home region until the summer of 2019.

The 24-year-old is the second Ospreys player to commit his future to the region after Justin Tipuric signed a new deal earlier in November.

"I'm really happy to have signed this contract," Baker told the club website.

"I've been here all of my career, coming through the academy to play senior rugby for the Ospreys and I can't imagine playing anywhere else."

Baker, who is currently with the Wales squad for their autumn international series, has won three caps for his country after making his international debut against Japan in June 2013.

The former Ystradgynlais and Swansea back has made 64 appearances for Ospreys and has scored 13 tries.

"I've got a great opportunity now and it's up to me to make the most of it and keep improving as a player," he added.

"If I can do that over the next few years then I should get plenty of game time and then, hopefully, I can help the team be successful."
